Get Out of the Server Business and Back to Your Business

It’s an interesting thing, many companies feel they need to own and operate the equipment that runs their software applications.  But why? 

If we look at the larger successful web-based applications out there we see that having someone else who specializes in running systems, does a dramatically better job than small companies doing it themselves.  SalesForce.com is a good example.  A great product in multiple levels that has a huge usage base.  If they had an option to have you buy it, buy servers, install and configure it, support it locally, why would anyone do that?  The answer is that no one would.  You’d spend more capital, add support staff, create huge risk without redundancy, and end up with a much poorer level of service.

So why do small companies believe they need to own their own servers when they can use an IVDesk solution to run everything for them?  Maybe there are unanswered questions that come to mind:

IVDesk Adds New “Secure Shadow” Feature for Customers
